I noticed that mylar is used in emergency sleeping bags. I also noticed that it is really light. Why isn’t mylar used in created commercial sleeping bags?

Mylar doesn’t stand up to laundering very well, so it’s not a good choice for sleeping bags that are meant for long-term use. It’s wonderful for situations where being small/light is important, but otherwise, not so much.
